Zero Waste Detroit supports partnerships that further our mission of increasing waste reduction in the Motor City.
These are some organizations with which we collaborate:
- Building Equity and Alignment for Environmental Justice (BEA): Fostering authentic cross-sector relationships to advance the progress of the environmental movement towards a just transition to equitable funding.
- CURES (Center for Urban Responses to Environmental Stressors): Disease prevention through community awareness and public policy change in Detroit.
- Detroit City Council Green Task Force: The Green Task Force advises the Detroit City Council on sustainable principles and practices to better serve the City of Detroit.
- Detroit Climate Action Collaborative: This group developed and is now improving the city’s first climate change action plan.
- Detroit Environmental Agenda: This group is made up of 20 local, nonprofit organizations committed to making Detroit a healthy, clean, just, and safe place for people to live, work, and thrive.
- Detroiters Working for Environmental Justice: This organization advocates for a healthy environment through innovative community and policy action that values all people.
- GAIA (Global Alliance for Incinerator Alternatives): Catalyzing a global shift towards environmental justice by strengthening grassroots social movements that advance solutions to waste and pollution.
- Green Living Science: This group's goal is to make Detroit cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable by teaching and inspiring passion in recycling.
- Michigan Environmental Council: With nearly 100 member organizations, MEC is the voice for the environment in Michigan's Capitol.
- Michigan Environmental Justice Coalition: This group of statewide organizations works together to advance state environmental justice issues.
- Zero Waste USA: A Zero Waste International Alliance national affiliate with the goal of inspiring communities to embrace and achieve Zero Waste.
